BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A well-known Burlington tennis pro is spearheading an effort to bring
the game to children in Cuba.
Jake Agna has taught tennis to generations of Vermont kids, and last
year, he brought his Kids On The Ball program to Cuba, hoping to use the
game to build a bridge of friendship between the two nations. One big
problem, though, is a lack of facilities.
So Kids On The Ball has helped arrange plans to rebuild 10 courts at
Cuba's national tennis center starting next week. The group is still
raising funds to cover the $1.5 million cost.
