GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) - Havana Night auction and fundraiser is being
hosted in Grand Rapids by First-Hand Aid. It will be a night full of
Cuban food, dancing, and all proceeds go to relieving the extreme need
for medical supplies for hospitalized children and food programs to
sustain the elderly in Cuba. Volunteers travel with First-Hand Aid to
Cuba and assist in local hospitals bringing medical supplies and in
homes bringing meals to elderly residents in need. eightWest's Joy
Walczak and GRCC Media Services Director Klaas Kwant captured the
program's service in 2011. Lives are impacted with every trip.
Havana Night is the organization's largest annual fund raising event.
It will be held on June 21, 2013 starting at 6 p.m. at the home of
First-Hand Aid founder Marc Bohland, 356 Maryland Ave NE. Tickets are
