The U.S. government's recent relaxing of restrictions on relations with
Cuba has led to the creation of a new multi-platform network launching
this Spring that will offer content from the country.

The CubaNetwork will team with digital distribution company Vubiquity to
launch this April as an over-the-top service featuring thousands of
hours of original and exclusive programming originating from a
production facility in Havana in both English and Spanish, according to
Keith Bass, CEO of the network. The network, owned by Caribbean
Broadcasting Network, will offer reality programming on Cuban culture,
night life and food as well as Cuban-themed documentaries, TV movies,
telenovelas and sports.

"We're at a unique historical moment between Cuba and the US, so this
looked like a great time to do something like this," said Bass. "Now we
have the opportunity do something with the growing interest in Cuba."

Bass added the network will look to launch a linear channel in May and
is talking to MVPD distributors for carriage, although he would not
predict how many subscribers the network would be in front of at launch.

Bass said the network would be targeted to general audiences. "The
network is not targeted to the Spanish-only audience but its designed
for a general audience interested in Cuban culture, music sports and
travel," he said.
