LAKE MARY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November; however, forecasters say there is a 30 percent chance that a low pressure system over Cuba and the Straits of Florida could intensify by the time it lifts north and east over the Atlantic Ocean.
"We're watching for moisture to move in over our direction and clouds will continue to thicken as we move into the overnight hours in Central Florida," said FOX 35 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Richards.
As the area of low pressure moves up the East Coast of Florida, there will be an increased chance for wind and rain.
"The seas will definitely be on the rough side, and there will be some minor beach erosion," Richards added.
Coastal winds are expected to be 25 to 28 miles per hour. Temperatures will be very comfortable over the next two days.
The outlook for the weekend looks good, with sunny skies and high temperature in the low 80s.
