Tall-ship sailing cruises return to Cuba

CUBA STANDARD — Returning to the island after its initial winter season
2012-13, Star Clippers UK is offering cruises from Cuba on its
170-passenger Star Flyer this and next winter season.

Cruises include 6-night and 7-night cruises from the southern port of
Cienfuegos beginning in February 2014, as well as a transfer cruise from
Cienfuegos to St. Maarten in March. Star Flyer will return to Cienfuegos
in December 2014 for more cruises through March 2015.

The brainchild of Swedish entrepreneur Mikael Krafft, Star Clippers
operates from the United Kingdom; the company also has a subsidiary in
Miami. Star Clippers owns three full-rigged, four- and five-mast sailing
ships.

Launched in 1991 in Ghent, Belgium, Star Flyer was the first clipper
ship since 1911 to be granted the certificate of Sailing Passenger
Vessel by Lloyd's Register of Shipping. It is a four-masted,
square-rigged barquentine, 360 feet long, with 36,000 square feet of
sail and can carry up to 170 passengers and 75 crew members.
