Cuba, Venezuela Review Military Cooperation

CARACAS, June 24 (NNN-Prensa Latina) -- Cuba and Venezuela have signed a
techno-military agreement, the process for which started in 2008, as
part of the cooperation between the two nation in several areas.

The signing of the document was carried out by the Venezuelan Minister
for Defense, Vladimir Padrino, and the Head of the Revolutionary Armed
Forces of Cuba (FAR), Leopoldo Cintra Forces.

The latter is in Caracas to review the different tasks of the joint work
with his counterpart.

Padrino thanked Cuba and its people for the solidarity and firm support
for the cause of Venezuela in the rejection of a US decree cataloged as
a threat.

The relaunching of the military cooperation will strengthen the
independence path chosen by the two countries, he told reporters.

He also gave Cintra the salute of President Nicolas Maduro to the people
of the Caribbean island, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution,
Fidel Castro, and President Raul Castro.

Padrino also pointed out that the visiting delegation arrived in a
special moment for Venezuela, because the nation is immersed in the
celebrations for the 194th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, won on
June 24, 1821 and a key element to the success of the independence forces.
