A movement to extradite fugitive bombmaker William Morales from Cuba is
gaining momentum 40 years after the deadly terrorist blast at historic
Fraunces Tavern in the Financial District.
Some Republican lawmakers have pushed for Morales and about 70 other
suspected criminals living in Cuba to be returned for trial in the wake
of the Obama administration's plans to normalize relations with the
Castro regime.
On Friday, three GOP senators — David Vitter (La.), Marco Rubio (Fla.)
and Ted Cruz (Texas) — issued a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder
questioning the legality of the administration's normalization despite
Cuba's harboring of fugitives.
