1:36 pm, Wed April 16, 2014
Six Cubans who were picked up by the marine police near a beach in
Negril in the western parish of Westmoreland early Tuesday, have been
identified as fishermen.
They told the police they were on a fishing trip and drifted into
Jamaican waters.
The police say the men were released after they were checked by local
immigration officers and representatives from the International Criminal
Police Organization (Interpol) and released.
The men were given food, gas and water and sent back to Cuba.
