Cuba To Promote Nature Tourism
HAVANA, Aug 16 (BERNAMA-NNN-Prensa Latina) -- With the increase
development of the local tourism industry, Cuba plans to develop nature
tourism.
The tourism industry has proposed a meeting in late September in the
eastern region to discuss development of the region known for its almost
"virgin vegetation and the development of related specialties".
The meeting is the Ninth International Meeting on Nature Tourism "Turnat
2013" from September 24 to 28 in the eastern Cuban province of Granma.
Raul Naranjo, general manager of Ecotur SA travel agency said that this
is a meeting of highly specialised people in the trade from Europe and
Latin America.
Naranjo confirmed the attendance of experts from Mexico, Canada, the
United Kingdom, and Italy and the country expects participating from
Argentina, Brazil, France and Germany.
The programme includes presentations, lectures on nature tourism,
cultural heritage and environment, as well as tours of scenarios of
interest. The event is also organised by the Ministry of Science,
Technology and Environment and the National Enterprise for the
Protection of Flora and Fauna.
