WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck near
Guantanamo, Cuba, on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake was centered 27 miles southwest of Guantanamo and had a depth
of 14 miles, the USGS said.
The United States has a naval base at Guantanamo Bay that includes a
prison housing 188 detainees. There was no immediate word on damages.
