in Cuba
Business leaders, economists and Cuba experts gather April 1st in NYC to
explore opportunities and issues U.S. firms face when entering the
emerging Cuban market
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 12, 2015

The University of Pennsylvania's Lauder Institute will join
Knowledge@Wharton to co-host a major conference April 1, 2015 in New
York City for senior U.S. executives to gain insight into the legal and
economic challenges of doing business in Cuba. The event, titled the
"Cuba Opportunity Summit: High-Velocity Growth," will help businesses
develop strategies for entering this previously untapped market.
"Unleashing Cuba's potential in the global economy is essential to
fostering change from all perspectives, and it will hopefully lead to a
more integrated Caribbean region," said Mauro F. Guillén, director of
The Lauder Institute and a professor of management at the Wharton School
of the University of Pennsylvania.
The Lauder Institute, which offers advanced business and cultural
studies through a joint Wharton MBA and MA in International Studies
degree program, has longstanding experience in exploring the mechanics
of Cuban society and economy. In January, Lauder hosted an Immersion
Program in Cuba, which gave Lauder MBA/MA candidates students a unique
opportunity to gain insight into contemporary perspectives on business
opportunities as well as the causes and consequences of the Cuban
Revolution and its implications for native Cubans.
The Cuba Opportunity Summit is a unique learning and networking forum
for companies looking to leverage the Cuban market in order to drive
growth. It is expected to attract 200 senior-level executives and
decision makers from across a variety of sectors including
infrastructure, agriculture, retail, tourism, transportation, technology
and the knowledge economy.
Presentations will focus on education and real-world case studies
designed to provide a strategic roadmap for entry into the Cuban market.
In addition to keynote presentations, the summit will feature panels and
extensive time for Q&A, discussion among participants, and networking
opportunities.
The full agenda for the conference can be found at

The one-day conference will take place April 1st at the W Hotel Times
Square, 1567 Broadway, New York, NY. Registration information can be
